  3. Download the new Truist app and enjoy.

Yes, continue to sign in to BBT.com and SunTrust.com as usual.

We’re upgrading clients to Truist in waves. You’ll receive messages by mail, email, and in your online banking at least 30 days before being upgraded.

For the best desktop experience on Truist online banking, the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge are recommended. For tablet and mobile, the latest versions of Chrome and Safari on iOS 13 and later, or Android 10 and later, are recommended. 

No, you’ll need to wait until it’s your turn to upgrade. We’re upgrading clients in waves based on specific account information—so your experience will be as smooth as possible.

Yes, you’ll see your personal investment account information and access to your investment portfolio summary as well as account details such as holdings, asset allocation, and unrealized/realized gains as part of Truist online (mobile). Market research tools are available for clients with investments.

Most people won’t need to change their user ID, but if you’re prompted to change your user ID or password when moving to online banking with Truist, just follow the instructions provided.

If you use biometrics like Face ID, Touch ID, Fingerprint, etc. to sign in on the mobile app, and you upgrade using the mobile app, you’ll need to create a new password.

We use all the same identification information from your BB&T or SunTrust online banking account—so your contact info and security questions will remain the same.

Continue to sign in to both BBT.com and SunTrust.com as usual. Your account information won’t be fully combined until the transition to Truist is complete.

If you use other financial sites or apps—like Intuit, Robinhood, or NerdWallet—and have linked BB&T or SunTrust accounts, you’ll need to complete your transition to Truist to get updated account balances and information on those sites. Just log in to BBT.com or SunTrust.com to get started. If you’ve upgraded to Truist and changed your user ID or password, you’ll need to update your information on each of those sites or apps.

You can enable Face ID, Touch ID, or Biometrics from your profile image at the top of your home screen. Just select Profile & settings, then Security Central. You’ll see Face ID, Touch ID, or Biometrics (based on whichever is available based on your device type), where you can enable the feature.

On your iOS device, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Select Dark Mode. To disable Dark Mode, follow the same steps and select Light Mode.

On your Android device, go to Quick Settings > Dark Mode. Follow the same steps to disable Dark Mode.

If you have an account that isn’t showing on either your home screen or your accounts screen, you’ll want to first check your settings. From your home screen, select Home settings, then Show/Hide under Accounts. Make sure each account you want to see is set to show where you want it on your Home screen and your Accounts screen, since these can have different customizable settings.

No, children under 13 are not able to use digital banking.

Yes. When it’s your turn to upgrade, you can visit the App Store or Google Play Store and search for Truist Mobile to download it.

Apple devices with iOS 13 and later, and Android devices with OS 8 and later are compatible. If your mobile device has an older operating system, you will need to upgrade to a compatible version, or access online banking through a browser at BBT.com or SunTrust.com.

Truist is launching a new and improved App for Apple users. The Truist App will support iOS 13 and 14 and also iOS 15 when it is rolled out by Apple. If your phone has an older operating system, you will need to upgrade or access online banking through Truist.com.

Truist is launching a new and improved App for Android users. The Truist App will support OS 8 and later operating systems. If your phone has an older operating system, you will need to upgrade or access online banking through Truist.com.

You can safely delete your U by BB&T or SunTrust Mobile app after downloading the Truist Mobile app and moving to online banking with Truist. All your information will securely transfer over to the Truist Mobile app.

Transfers

Yes, however external transfers are only available in the web version of online banking for SunTrust clients:

  • Perform real-time transfers between your personal accounts
  • Transfer funds between your accounts with us and your accounts at other financial institutions
  • Schedule future transfers, or set up one-time or recurring transfers

Zelle

Your ability to send and receive money with Zelle is the same. And you’ll access Zelle through Transfer & Pay in your online banking with Truist.

But now you’ll have the increased flexibility of using your savings account as a funding source when sending money with Zelle.

Sign in to online banking with Truist or the mobile app. Go to Profile & Settings and select Alerts. Alerts are easy to set up and can be added, changed, or deleted anytime from this one central place.  

Select Preferences in the Alerts section to view email addresses and mobile numbers associated with alerts. You can also modify your email addresses and phone numbers by selecting the Personal Information link.
