To deliver instant settlement and improved cash flow for small-value merchant payments, Dropp implemented Truist’s Real-Time Payments (RTP®) solution. Through API-driven integration, RTP enables merchants to receive funds immediately, reduce card fees, and move away from traditional payment rails like cards, checks, and cash. The solution provides a secure, cost-effective payment experience that supports the micropayment economy and powers a more efficient, cashless digital experience.

Opportunities:

  • Dropp was seeking an avenue to deliver payments instantaneously to its merchants, many of whom were in need of increased cash flow for small-value transactions
  • They wanted to remove friction points and unlock more payment scenarios as an alternative to traditional rails, such as cards, cash, and checks
  • Moreover, Dropp sought a financial service provider aligned to the value of instant payments and one committed to collaboration and equipped to meet the urgency of go-to-market execution
  • Dropp found one in Truist Bank, who began to discuss ways it could leverage an Application Programming Interface (API) to integrate with Dropp’s own payment technology

Solution:

  • Truist’s RTP solution provided Dropp merchants with instant settlement: They can now receive funds immediately to help enhance their cash flow and remove delays
  • RTP also helps Dropp merchants reduce card fees, putting more money back into businesses and unlocking a new micro-payment economy
  • RTP is helping Dropp provide merchants with an efficient and cost-effective alternative to card, check, and cash with improved cash flow unlocking a new cash-less digital economy

Results:

  • Dropp’s new instant disbursement feature, built in collaboration with Truist, gives merchants flexible settlement options. Whether on-demand, intraday, or end-of-day, funds are settled instantly by giving merchants complete control over their payment balances through Dropp’s digital platform
  • Dropp customers can now pay seamlessly via user-friendly interface with QR codes or digital wallets and enjoy exclusive discounts at checkout
  • The RTP solution is now delivering significant value to merchants, combining instant settlement with user-friendly features like QR codes, pay-by-SMS or email, and the ability to offer exclusive discounts at checkout
  • RTP has additionally provided advanced security measures for Dropp merchants: They can now send and receive payments backed by advanced fraud prevention measures
