Background

Walter Pate is a dedicated financial advisor who finds joy in helping others address their goals. With a genuine care for people, Walter chose to become an advisor because he thrives on seeing others succeed and believes in the power of guiding clients towards a more confident future.

Clients appreciate working with Walter and his team because of the sincere relationships they build. Walter treats each client as a friend, providing them with guidance through both short-term and long-term planning processes, as well as navigating the ups and downs of the market. He works hard to earn his clients' trust and strives to work in their best interest.

Walter particularly understands the challenges faced by surviving spouses. Having experienced the loss of his own father at a young age and witnessing how some treated his mother, Walter is passionate about ensuring that widows receive the support and advice they deserve. He understands the unique issues that must be managed after losing a life partner, and works tirelessly to provide surviving spouses with the proper guidance and care.

Walter's prior roles as a financial planning teacher and manager of multiple advisor teams across different states have greatly informed his work as an advisor. This experience has given him a deep understanding of the financial industry and honed his ability to effectively assist clients from all walks of life. Walter takes pride in his accomplishment in earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation.

Personal Interests

Beyond his professional endeavors, Walter actively engages with his local community. He serves as an assistant Scoutmaster, witnessing firsthand the growth and resilience of young individuals through high adventure hiking. Additionally, he is a long-term board member and former president of the Charleston Area Citadel Club, where he contributes his leadership skills and dedication to the organization's mission.

In his free time, Walter indulges in his passion for running. Having completed six marathons, he not only enjoys the physical challenge but also cherishes the opportunity to run alongside his kids, family, and coworkers. Furthermore, Walter and his son volunteer annually for the local Walk for Water event sponsored by Water Mission, highlighting his commitment to giving back to those in need.
