About me

Background

As a Vice President and Senior Governance Associate for the Center for Family Legacy, Silke Shilling serves as an advocate, educator, and facilitator for family governance and education services throughout the firm, working closely with clients and advisors to ensure that all facets of a family’s governance plans are closely coordinated. Much of her time is spent developing, supporting, and delivering Truist Wealth’s Center for Family Legacy proprietary tools and processes specifically designed to help families increase their chances of sustaining wealth over generations. 

Prior to joining Truist's predecessor firm, SunTrust, in 2004, Silke worked in the alternative investment space as an operations specialists for Zweig-DiMenna International, Inc., in New York City and as the executive assistant to Jan Smith at the Center for Authentic Leadership, whose commitment was to train successful adults to design lives consistent and congruent with their in-born gifts and purpose.  

Silke holds Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association and is certified administrator of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and DISC and Motivators.  

Silke uses "she/her" pronouns and pronounces her name, “Silk-ah”.

Personal Interests

Silke holds a B.S. in Psychology from Kennesaw State University, where she also studied Opera performance. Silke volunteers regularly in her community, serves as VP Philanthropy for the National Charity League (East Cobb chapter) and is on the advisory team for The Sandwich Project. She hails from a family spanning the world, from Germany and Portugal, through New Jersey to New Zealand. Growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii, a melting pot of people and cultures, she learned early to appreciate differences and seek common ground.
