Background
Mark Binnion is an institutional investment advisor within the Foundations and Endowments Specialty Practice at Truist, offering clients more than 30 years of investment management experience. As a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) professional, he advises on the development and implementation of investment strategies to help his clients meet their short- and long-term goals. He follows a disciplined process of assessing clients’ financial situations to determine their risk tolerance, forming and executing an appropriate investment strategy, and performing regular portfolio rebalancing and reporting to help obtain measurable results.
The Foundations and Endowments Specialty Practice delivers comprehensive investment advisory, administration, planned giving, custody, trust, and fiduciary services to nonprofit organizations, administering assets for foundations, hospitals, educational institutions, cultural organizations, human service agencies, associations, municipalities, and other nonprofits.
Mark began his career in 1990 at Delaware investments, where he focused on equity analysis, portfolio management, and risk management, before serving global asset allocation clients as an account manager at Putnam Investments. He then joined Franklin Templeton Institutional for 14 years as a senior vice president and institutional relationship manager, responsible for servicing large endowments and foundations, as well as public and corporate defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
Personal Interests
Mark earned a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a member of the CFA Society of South Florida. He serves on the finance and investment committee of the Humane Society of Broward County, is involved in many community activities, and has done volunteer work for a local school as a math tutor.
