Background
Jeff Hassler is a Wealth Advisor and Senior Vice President with Truist Wealth. He strives to inspire financial well-being in his clients by connecting them with solutions to their financial needs. He seeks first to understand clients’ deepest personal and financial concerns, then coordinate a team of advisors from inside and outside Truist to address these concerns. He is particularly passionate about promoting family harmony, leveraging advanced planning techniques to address intergenerational wealth issues, and connecting clients with opportunities to give back to their communities.
An estate planning attorney by training, Jeff practiced with the Private Wealth Services group of McGuireWoods LLP in Richmond, where he worked with wealthy families on estate planning, fiduciary risk and litigation, tax strategy, and philanthropic planning.
At BB&T Wealth, Jeff served as a Regional Director of Trust Services, leading a successful team of trust officers and administrators in the mid-Atlantic region. He was also a Personal Trust Specialist, working with clients and their advisors to proactively address estate planning needs, grow and protect wealth, and resolve family conflict, while administering all fiduciary aspects of sophisticated trust, estate, and investment accounts.
Following the merger of SunTrust and BB&T to form Truist, Jeff served until 2026 as a Senior Region Trust Advisor, where he provided advanced estate planning guidance to ultra-high net worth clients and administered large and complex trust and fiduciary accounts.
Jeff graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University (J.D.) in 2008 and summa cum laude from Wheaton College, Illinois (B.A., Political Science) in 2003. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and clerked for Chief Justice Donald W. Lemons of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
