About me

Background

Jim Mason is a Financial Advisor with Truist Investment Services, Inc. He offers clients more than 35 years of financial services, retirement planning, and investment management experience. He was born in Knoxville, TN, attended the University of Tennessee and then began his career there as the Assistant Director of Retirement Services – University-Wide Administration. He was an Institutional Counselor for TIAA-CREF, the largest private pension system, for five years working with colleges and universities in Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. Jim was also an Assistant Vice President and Pension Consultant with the Willis Group, Nashville. Jim began his career in 1996 with the Retirement Trust Division with SunTrust Banks, Inc. (now Truist) before moving to the investment division in 1999.  

Jim holds the FINRA Series 7, 66, and 26 securities licenses. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation from the CFP Board of Standards, Inc., the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS®) designation from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and the Certified Retirement Planning Consultant (CRPC®) from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
