Background
Jim Mason is a Financial Advisor with Truist Investment Services, Inc. He offers clients more than 35 years of financial services, retirement planning, and investment management experience. He was born in Knoxville, TN, attended the University of Tennessee and then began his career there as the Assistant Director of Retirement Services – University-Wide Administration. He was an Institutional Counselor for TIAA-CREF, the largest private pension system, for five years working with colleges and universities in Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. Jim was also an Assistant Vice President and Pension Consultant with the Willis Group, Nashville. Jim began his career in 1996 with the Retirement Trust Division with SunTrust Banks, Inc. (now Truist) before moving to the investment division in 1999.

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee, College of Business Administration and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Tennessee, College of Education.
Jim is married and has three sons. He enjoys his dogs, time on Douglas Lake, traveling, and comic book collecting.
