Background
Harrison “Rocky” Taylor is a member of the Taylor Group of Trust Investment Services, a multi-generational advisory team providing financial planning and investment management services to families, individuals, and institutions. Rocky is partnered with his son, William R. Taylor, and Ryan Young and is supported by brokerage sales associates Aissatou Barry. Within the team, Rocky’s primary focus is relationship management and retail investment management.
Rocky was hired as a vice president and branch manager of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow’s Charlottesville office in 1997. In 2009, he became complex manager for the northern Virginia offices, and in 2014, he was promoted to managing director. Rocky holds FINRA Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 63 and 65 securities registrations, and life and health insurance licenses. Prior to joining the firm, Rocky was an institutional equity salesman with Merrill Lynch in New York and Philadelphia. Before beginning his career in financial services, he was a commercial ship and international dry cargo broker in New York.

Personal Interests
Rocky graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the nationally ranked men’s crew program. Rocky has been a long-time member of the Nantucket Yacht Club, the Keswick Country Club, and the Keswick Hunt Club, where he served as vice president. He also supports the Senior Center; Piedmont Environmental Council; United Way – Thomas Jefferson Area; Children, Youth and Family Services, Inc. of Charlottesville; Grace Episcopal Church, where he was the chairman of the Investment Oversight Committee; and the University of Virginia. He is married and has two sons, one daughter and three dogs. In his spare time, he is an avid gardener and propagator of exotic and tropical plants.
