Who we are

The BDM Group has been providing tailored investment advice and customized portfolio strategies to help achieve the financial goals of individuals, families, business owners, foundations, and family trusts for over twenty years. Like our clients, we’ve lived and managed through major market corrections, including the tech bubble, the financial crisis, and COVID 19. Throughout all of these challenges, we’ve remained committed to providing services built on a foundation of straightforward advice and a focus on long-term relationships based on earned trust.

We hold ourselves to a high standard. Each of our relationships begin with a personal approach to wealth management and we recognize each financial journey is unique and deserves specialized attention. Our advisors are invested in understanding our clients’ dreams and aspirations and work with them to develop a course of action that will serve as the focal point to accomplishing their goals before we make a single investment recommendation. We do not see ourselves as simply advisors, but as partners.

Our commitment in working with and for you is to always keep your best interests at the forefront of our relationship, which is why we partner with you, our internal team of specialists, and your personal advisors, from CPAs to attorneys.

What truly sets us apart is our calculated combination of asset allocation and proactive risk management. We believe dependable portfolio preservation and growth can be best achieved through measuring and mapping trends in economic growth and the credit markets. Simply put, there is a time and a place for being fully invested in a particular asset category and a time not to be — “time in the market” is more impactful than “timing the market.” We provide a process to identify when the time is right and where to spend it.

It's critical to start with a plan in order to accomplish a specific objective in life with a high level of confidence. Yet while we make a plan for just about everything else—from a trip to the grocery store to taking a family vacation—for some reason, many don’t do the same for things like retirement.

The financial plan is the cornerstone of our client-advisor relationship. We invest the time to get to know a client’s financial dreams and aspirations so that we can build a working document that will serve as the focal point for measuring the progress of their financial journey. (**For individuals not seeking financial planning, The BDM Group can perform a no-cost portfolio evaluation that will suggest appropriate action plans to begin their portfolio transformation.)

The scope of an effective plan may include such topics as budgeting, investing, and all forms of planning, including tax, insurance, retirement, and, if necessary, estate.

Our structured approach to planning follows a logical path:
  • The discovery meeting: The financial planning process is all about the client. Through a friendly conversation, we get to know what matters most to and keeps them up at night. We’ll gather pertinent documents and data points during this meeting as the raw materials to begin to build a plan.
  • Presentation of our findings: We share with the client a detailed, easy-to-follow roadmap, including the necessary investment vehicles and amounts needed to fund them to help achieve their financial goals.
  • Implementation: The investment of the client’s capital begins, within agreed-upon accounts and investment risk profiles.
  • Monitoring and reviewing: We provide a quarterly review of the client’s investment allocations and performance to be sure that they are tracking appropriately to achieve the goals set forth in the financial plan.
