About me

Background

Rob Sturm joined Truist in 1997 after serving as the director of a healthcare foundation, bringing with him a deep appreciation for mission‑driven work and community involvement. Now with 29 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, Rob is known for his listening‑first approach, taking time to understand each client’s priorities, concerns, and long‑term goals before shaping a strategy. He believes thoughtful financial planning begins with clear communication and a strong relationship.

Rob’s work spans risk management, investment management, estate planning, and philanthropic strategy. His advisory philosophy centers on helping clients make well‑informed decisions that support both their present needs and future aspirations. Whether guiding individuals, families, or organizations, Rob strives to offer practical, transparent insights that align with what matters most to the client.

In addition to his core advisory focus, Rob has developed specialized experience in business transition and succession planning for business owners preparing for changes in leadership or ownership. He also works with not‑for‑profit organizations on endowment and foundation oversight, drawing on his own background in the nonprofit sector. His institutional investment experience includes helping organizations create disciplined, mission‑aligned investment frameworks and governance structures.

Rob also advises multigenerational families on family governance, supporting efforts to establish shared values, communication practices, and long‑term planning approaches that promote responsible stewardship across generations.

Throughout his career, Rob has remained dedicated to listening closely, offering steady guidance, and serving as a partner as clients navigate life’s financial decisions. His goal is to help clients move forward both today and in the future.
