About me

Background

Michael Covington is a Trust Advisor who helps clients take a thoughtful, strategic approach to financial planning—whether they are just beginning to build wealth or managing more complex needs. He works closely with each client to understand what matters most to them, starting with an in-depth financial needs assessment. In collaboration with Truist specialists in Banking, Strategic Credit, Risk Management, Investments, and Trust & Estate Planning, Michael develops customized recommendations aligned with his clients’ goals, priorities, and personal preferences.

Michael earned his MBA from Campbell University and holds both the Certified Financial Planner(CFP®) and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designations. He completed advanced trust certification at Campbell University and spent several years assisting families with special needs trust planning. Michael is actively involved in the community, serving on the boards of Atlanta Legal Aid, St. Benedict’s Episcopal School, and Atlanta Estate Planning Council (AEPC). He also serves on the advisory board for the Cobb Community Foundation Professional Advisors Network (PAN). Michael brings more than 30 years of banking experience to his clients.
