About me

Background

Michael Sahakian is the Regional Practice Leader for the greater Washington, D.C., and Maryland area within the Foundations and Endowments Specialty Practice, responsible for articulating and implementing the practice’s disciplined and consistent investment process. He also provides leadership and oversight to the investment advisory and outsourced chief investment officer roles for clients and team members. 

Michael joined the practice in 2015, and in his 25-year career he has held a number of senior investment positions, including investment management for institutional and retirement service accounts, consultative services for retirement accounts, and director of client service and marketing for a small regional equity boutique. 

He’s a member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts.

Personal Interests

Michael earned a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Richmond and an MBA in investments from George Washington University. He’s served on the investment committee for St. Mary’s Apostolic Church for the past 10 years, as well as on the board for the Montgomery County Maryland Community College investment committee. He’s a native Washingtonian and an avid fan of all of the local sports teams.
