About me

Background

Colin Ducharme is a Senior Managing Director and Financial Advisor who helps lead The Compass Group. He offers clients insights drawn from more than two decades of investment management experience and originally joined BB&T Scott & Stringfellow – now Truist Investment Services Inc – in 2011. Colin’s career journey includes roles as a founder, portfolio manager, investment analyst, engineer and professional athlete. This diverse background enables him to connect with a wide span of client family and entity types to offer differentiated lenses for unique perspective.

As a founder and portfolio manager he seeded, managed, and grew a high-returning equity strategy and created and listed (NYSE) the firm’s first active ETF, ringing the The Closing Bell. As an analyst he generated investment recommendations across the size and style spectrum for Lipper Award-winning teams managing >$9 billion in assets. As an engineer he streamlined manufacturing operations on a Fortune 500 defense contractor’s factory floor.
Colin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Virginia and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
