Background
Charles “Chuck” is a Senior Investment Manager of Truist Wealth with thirty years of experience in the investment management industry. Chuck began his career on a trading desk, evolved to become an analyst, and has been managing portfolios for over fifteen years. He has worked in equity trading for a Fortune 500 financial services company, supplied research and analytical support to long-short equity and quantitative hedge funds, and managed portfolios with a number of mandates utilizing several strategies. This extensive experience, particularly in equity investments and alternatives, lends well to a unique ability in the design of custom, complex, if necessary, portfolios that are both tactically efficient and strategically aligned with client goals, objectives, and risk tolerance. Chuck strives to position clients in an ideal way to allow for a comfortable experience while at the same time achieving maximum investment results. He enjoys providing customized, holistic, solutions to clients.
Chuck received a BA in Economics from the University of Louisville (his hometown) where he was recognized as the Carl E. Abner Outstanding Senior in this field of study. He attended the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University where he focused his studies on investments, receiving an MBA in Finance and Accounting, and graduating as a leading member of the Investment Management Academy. Chuck has continued to keep his industry knowledge up to date throughout his career, becoming a CFA Charterholder in 2005, obtaining the Financial Risk Manager Designation in 2016, becoming a CAIA Charterholder in 2017, and finally, receiving the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2021. He enjoys the intellectually challenging environment of staying on top of markets, being a student of financial history, and deploying capital in such a way to help enhance results.
