About me

Background

Rita Joyce has been in the financial services and mortgage industries for more than 20 years, and serves the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities and counties, including Henry, Franklin, Montgomery, and Pittsylvania. She knows that buying a home is a hopeful and exciting experience that often represents a milestone for her clients’ families, who may be in different stages of life and have unique economic situations and financial goals. Joyce specializes in helping low-to-moderate income clients by using her expertise in affordable mortgage loan products, assisting with down payment opportunities, and community outreach. While Joyce has a  vast knowledge of all loan programs—including FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, and state agency loans—she also guides clients to local not-for-profit agencies or housing counselors, who can provide credit knowledge, counseling, and help them prepare for homeownership.

Rita has spent most of her life in southwestern part of Virginia and is extremely active in organizations and her community. Currently, she’s a third-term board member for the Total Action for Progress community action agency and board member for the Blue Ridge Mortgage Lenders Association (since 2019); a member of the Roanoke Regional Housing Network (since 2013), the Williamson Road Area Business Association, and the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS®; a Junior Achievement volunteer; and a train-the-trainer certified educator with Virginia Housing. Previously, she was an educator for the Virginia Blue Ridge Chapter of Susan Komen, a member of the Virginia Jaycees, a YWCA board member, and an athletic director and coach with the Inner City Athletic Association.
